Between You And Me

Between you and me
Life was good for us so many years ago
No tragedy
When we talked about the things our fears did show

What happened to you, hey what made you change?
Some hurtful trauma, and your brain was rearranged

Between you and me
When you met that guy he took you overboard
Some fantasy
You were convinced of peoples’ minds that you could hoard

What is this magic? what secret do you hold?
Convincing others that you can save their souls

Between you and me
See, I was once like you, I preached a heavy line
Not meant to be, no
I came crashing down, things weren’t going fine

What is the reason? well, I did what I was told
A change of season and my story got too old

Between you and me
Life’s for livin’, not for preachin’, not for pryin’
Ironically
Toward self-fulfillment is the reason we’re all tryin’

What is the answer? Well, I’m not so sure myself
You got a problem, you’d better get some help

Between you and me
